1 اور ایسا ہوا کہ جب داؔؤد اور اُسکے لوگ تیسرے دن صِؔقلاج میں پہنچے تو دیکھا کہ عمالیقیوں نے جنوبی حصہ اور صِقلاؔج پر چڑھائی کرکے صِقلاؔج کو مارا اور آگ سے پھونک دِیا۔
2 اور عورتوں کو اور جتنے چھوٹے برے وہاں تھے سب کو اِسیر کر لیا ہے ۔ اُنہوں نےکسی کو قتل نہیں کیا بلکہ اُنکو لیکر چلا دِئے تھے۔
3 سو جب داؔؤد اور اُسکے لوگ شہر میں پُہنچے تو دیکھا کہ شہر آگ سے جلا پڑا ہے اور اُنکی بیویاں اور بیٹے اور بیٹیاں اِسیر ہوگئی ہیں۔
4 تب داؔؤد اور اُسکے ساتھ کے لوگ چلا چلا کر رونے لگے یہاں تک کہ اُن میں رونے کی طاقت نہ رہی۔
5 اور داؔؤد کی دونوں بیویاں یزرعیلی اؔجینوعم اور کرمِلی ناباؔل کی بیوی ابیجؔیل اِسیر ہوگئی تھیں ۔
6 اور داؔؤد بڑے شکنجہ میں تھا کیونکہ لوگ اُسے سنگسار کرنے کو کہتے تھے اِسلئے کہ لوگوں کے دِل اپنے بیٹوں اور بیٹیوں کے لئے نہایت ٹمگین تھے پر داؔؤد نے خُداوند اپنے خُدا میں پانے آپ کو مضبوط کیا۔
7 اور داؔؤد نے اخؔیملک کے بیٹے ابی ؔیاتر کاہن سے کہا کہ ذرا افؔود کو ییہاں میرے پاس لے آ۔ سوابیؔ یاتر اُفود کو داؔؤد کے پاس لے آیا۔
8 اور داؔؤد نے خُداوند سے پُوچھا کہ اگر میں اُس فوج کا پیچھا کروں تو کیا میں اُنکو جالونگا۔؟ اُس نے اُس سے کہا کہ پیچھا کر کیونکہ تو یقیناً اُنکو جالیگا اور ضرور سب کچھ چھڑالائیگا۔
9 سو دا؂ؤد اور وہ چھ سَو آدمی جو اُسکے ساتھ تھے چلے اور بسؔور کی ندی پر پُہنچے جہاں وہ لوگ جو پیچھے چھوٹے گئے ٹھہرے رہے ۔
10 پر داؔؤد اور چار سَو آدمی پیچھا کئے چلے گئے کیونکہ دو سَو جو اَیسے تھک گئے تھے کہ بؔسور کی ندی کے پار نہ جا سکے پیچھے رہ گئے؟۔
11 اور اُنکو میدان میں ایک مصری مل گیا۔ اُسے وہ داؔؤد کے پاس لے آئے اور اُسے روٹی دی۔ سو اُس نے کھائی اور اُسے پینے کو پانی دیا۔
12 اور اُنہوں نے انجیر کی ٹکیا کا ایک ٹکڑا اور کشمِش کے دو خوشے اُسے دِئے ۔ جب وہ کھا چُکا تو اُسکی جان میں جان آئی کیونکہ اُس نے تین دِن اور تین رات سے نہ روٹی کھائی تھی نہ پانی پیا تھا۔
13 تب داؔؤد نے پُوچھا تو کِس کا آدمی ہے؟ اور تو کہا کا ہے؟ اُس نے کہامیں ایک مصری جوان اور ایک عمالیقی کا نوکر ہُوں اورم یرا آقا مجھ کو چھوڑ گیا کیونکہ تین دِن ہُوئے ۔ کہ میں بیمار پڑ گیا تھا۔
14 ہم نے کریتیوں کے جنوب میں اور یہُؔوداہ کے ملک میں اور کاؔلب کے جنوب میں لُوٹ مار کی اور صِقؔلاج کو آگ سے پھونک دیا۔
15 داؔؤد نے اُس سے کہا کیا تُو مجھے اُس فوج تک پُہنچادیگا۔؟ اُس نے کہا کہ تو مجھ سے خُدا کی قسم کا کہ نہ تومجھے قتل کریگا اور نہ مجھے میرے آقا کے حوالہ کریگا تو میں تجھ کو اُس فوج تک پُہنچا دُونگا ۔
16 جب اُس نے اُسے وہاں پُہنچا دیا تو دیکھا کہ وہ لوگ اُس ساری زمین پر پھیلے ہوُئے تھے اور اُس بہت سے مال کے بب سے جو اُنہوں نے فلِسِتیوں کے مُلک اور یہُؔوداہ کے مُلک سے لُوٹا تھا کھاتے پیتے اور ضِیافتیں اُڑا رہے تھے ۔
17 سو داؔؤد رات کے پہلے پر سے لیکر دُوسرے دِن کی شام تک اُنکو مارتا رہا اور اُن میں سے ایک بھی نہ بچا سِوا چار سو جوانوں کے جو اُونٹوں پر چڑھ کر بھاگ گئے ۔
18 اور داؔؤد نے سب کچھ عمالیقی لے گئے تھے چُھڑالیا اور اپنی دونوں بیویوں کو بھی داؔؤد نےچھُڑا یا ۔
19 اور اُنکی کو ئی چیز گُم نہ ہُوئی نہ چھوٹی نہ بڑی نہ لڑکے نہ لڑکیاں نہ لُوٹ کا مال نہ اَور کوئی چیز جو اُنہوں نے لی تھی۔ داؔؤد سب کا سب لَوٹا لایا۔
20 اور داؔؤد نے سب بھیڑبکریاں اور گائے بیل لے لئے اور وہ اُنکو باقی مواشی کے آگے یہ کہتے ہُوئے ہانک لائے کہ یہ داؔؤد کی لُوٹ ہے ۔
21 اور داؔؤد اُن دو سو جوانوں کے پاس آیا جو اَیسے تھک گئے تھے کہ دؔاؤد کے پیچھے پیچھے نہ جا سکے اور جنکو اُنہوں نے بؔسور کی نڈی پر تھہرا دیا تھا۔ وہ داؔؤد اور اُسکے ساتھ کے لوگوں سے مِلنے کو نِکلے اور جب داؔؤد اُن لوگو کے نزدیک پُہنچا تو اُ سنے اُ ن سے خَیر و عافیت پُوچھی۔
22 تب اُن لوگوں میں سے جو داؔؤد کے ساتھ گئے تھے سب بدذات اور خبیث لوگوں نے کہا چُونکہ یہ ہمارے ساتھ نہ گئے اِسلئے ہم اِنکو اُس مال میں سے جو ہم نے چھُڑایا ہے کو ئی حصہ نہیں دینگے سوا ہر شخص کی بیوی اور بال بچوں کے تاکہ وہ اُنکو لیکر چلے جائیں ۔
23 تب داؔؤد نے کہا اَے میرے بھائیو تُم اِس مال کے ساتھ جو خُداوند نے ہم کو دیا ہے اَیسا نہیں کرنے پاؤ گے کیونکہ اُسی نے ہم کو بچایا اور اُس فوج کو جس نے ہم پر چڑھائی کی ہمارے ہاتھ میں کر دیا۔
24 اور اِس امر میں تُمہاری مانیگا کون؟ کیونکہ جیسا اُسکا حصہ ہے جو لڑائی میں جاتا ہے وَیسا ہی اُسکا حصَّہ ہو گا جو سامان کے پاس ٹھہرتا ہے ۔ دونوں برابر حصّہ پائینگے۔

26 اور جب داؔؤد صِؔقلاج میں یا تو اُس نے لُوٹ کے مال میں سے یہُؔوداہ کے بزرگوں کے پاس جو اُسکے دوست تھے کچھ کچھ بھیجا اور کہا کہ دیکھو خُداوند کے دُشمنوں کے مال میں سے یہ تمہارے لئے ہدیہ ہے۔
27 یہ اُنکے پاس جو بَیت ایؔل میں اور اُنکے پاس جر راماؔتُ الجنوب میں اور اُنکے پاس جو یؔتیر میں ۔
28 اور اُنکے پاس جو عؔروعیر میں اور اُنکے پاس جو سِفؔموت میں اور اُنکے پاس جو اِستموع میں ۔
29 اور اپنکے پاس جو رؔکِل میں اور اور اُنکے پاس جو یرحمئیلیوں کے شہروں میں اور اُنکے پاس جو قینیوں کے شہروں میں ۔
30 اور اُنکے پاس جو حُرمؔہ میں اور اُنکے (پاس جو کورعاساؔن میں اور اُنکے پاس جو عؔتاک میں ۔
31 اور اُنکے پاس جو حؔبرُون میں تھے اور اُن سب جگہوں میں جہاں جہاں داؔؤد اور اُسکے لوگ پھرا کرتے تھے بھیجا۔
1 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS , when David H1732 and his men H376 were come H935 B-VQFC to Ziklag H6860 on the third H7992 D-ONUM day H3117 B-AMS , that the Amalekites H6003 had invaded H6584 the south H5045 , and Ziklag H6860 , and smitten H5221 W-VHY3MP Ziklag H6860 , and burned H8313 it with fire H784 ;
2 And had taken the women captives H7617 , that H834 RPRO were therein : they slew H4191 not H3808 NADV any H376 NMS , either H5704 W-PREP great H1419 AMS or small H6996 , but carried them away H5090 , and went H1980 W-VQY3MP on their way H1870 .
3 So David H1732 and his men H376 came H935 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP the city H5892 D-GFS , and , behold H2009 IJEC , it was burned H8313 with fire H784 ; and their wives H802 , and their sons H1121 , and their daughters H1323 , were taken captives H7617 .
4 Then David H1732 and the people H5971 that H834 RPRO were with H854 PREP-3MS him lifted up H5375 W-VQY3MS their voice H6963 CMS-3MP and wept H1058 W-VQY3MP , until H5704 PREP they had no more H369 NPAR power H3581 CMS to weep H1058 .
5 And David H1732 \'s two H8147 wives H802 CFP were taken captives H7617 , Ahinoam H293 the Jezreelitess H3159 , and Abigail H26 the wife H802 CFS of Nabal H5037 the Carmelite H3761 .
6 And David H1732 L-NAME was greatly H3966 ADV distressed H3334 ; for H3588 CONJ the people H5971 spoke H559 VQQ3MP of stoning H5619 him , because H3588 CONJ the soul H5315 GFS of all H3605 NMS the people H5971 was grieved H4843 , every man H376 NMS for H5921 PREP his sons H1121 and for H5921 PREP his daughters H1323 : but David H1732 L-NAME encouraged himself H2388 in the LORD H3068 his God H430 .
7 And David H1732 MMS said H559 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP Abiathar H54 the priest H3548 , Ahimelech H288 \'s son H1121 , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , bring me hither H5066 the ephod H646 . And Abiathar H54 brought H5066 thither the ephod H646 to H413 PREP David H1732 .
8 And David H1732 MMS inquired H7592 W-VQY3MS at the LORD H3068 , saying H559 W-VQY3MS , Shall I pursue H7291 after H310 PREP this H2088 D-PMS troop H1416 ? shall I overtake H5381 them ? And he answered H559 W-VQY3MS him , Pursue H7291 : for H3588 CONJ thou shalt surely overtake H5381 them , and without fail recover H5337 all .
9 So David H1732 MMS went H1980 W-VQY3MS , he H1931 PPRO-3MS and the six H8337 W-RFS hundred H3967 BFP men H376 NMS that H834 RPRO were with H854 PREP-3MS him , and came H935 W-VQY3MP to H5704 PREP the brook H5158 NMS Besor H1308 , where those that were left behind H3498 stayed H5975 VQQ3MP .
10 But David H1732 MMS pursued H7291 W-VQY3MS , he H1931 PPRO-3MS and four H702 W-BFS hundred H3967 BFP men H376 NMS : for two hundred H3967 MFD abode behind H5975 , which H834 RPRO were so faint H6296 that they could not go over H5674 M-VQFC the brook H5158 NMS Besor H1308 .
11 And they found H4672 an Egyptian H4713 in the field H7704 B-NMS , and brought H3947 W-VQY3MP him to H413 PREP David H1732 MMS , and gave H5414 W-VQY3MP him bread H3899 NMS , and he did eat H398 ; and they made him drink H8248 water H4325 NMP ;
12 And they gave H5414 W-VQY3MP him a piece H6400 of a cake of figs H1690 , and two H8147 clusters of raisins H6778 : and when he had eaten H398 , his spirit H7307 CMS-3MS came again H7725 W-VQY3FS to H413 PREP-3MS him : for H3588 CONJ he had eaten H398 VQQ3MS no H3808 ADV bread H3899 NMS , nor H3808 W-NADV drunk H8354 any water H4325 OMD , three H7969 NFS days H3117 NMP and three H7969 NFS nights H3915 NMP .
13 And David H1732 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto him , To whom H4310 belongest thou H859 PPRO-2MS ? and whence H335 W-IGAT art thou H859 PPRO-2FS ? And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , I H595 PPRO-1MS am a young man H5288 of Egypt H4713 , servant H5650 NMS to an Amalekite H6003 ; and my master H113 left H5800 me , because H3588 CONJ three H7969 days H3117 D-AMS ago I fell sick H2470 .
14 We H587 PPRO-1MP made an invasion H6584 upon the south H5045 of the Cherethites H3774 , and upon H5921 W-PREP the coast which H834 RPRO belongeth to Judah H3063 , and upon H5921 W-PREP the south H5045 of Caleb H3612 ; and we burned H8313 Ziklag H6860 with fire H784 .
15 And David H1732 MMS said H559 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP-3MS him , Canst thou bring me down H3381 to H413 PREP this H2088 D-PMS company H1416 ? And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Swear H7650 unto me by God H430 , that thou wilt neither H518 PART kill H4191 me , nor H518 PART deliver H5462 me into the hands H3027 B-CFS of my master H113 , and I will bring thee down H3381 to H413 PREP this H2088 D-PMS company H1416 .
16 And when he had brought him down H3381 , behold H2009 IJEC , they were spread abroad H5203 upon H5921 PREP all H3605 CMS the earth H776 D-GFS , eating H398 and drinking H8354 W-VQPMP , and dancing H2287 , because of all H3605 the great H1419 D-AMS spoil H7998 that H834 RPRO they had taken H3947 out of the land H776 M-NFS of the Philistines H6430 TMS , and out of the land H776 of Judah H3063 .
17 And David H1732 MMS smote H5221 W-VHY3MS-3MP them from the twilight H5399 even unto H5704 W-PREP the evening H6153 of the next day H4283 : and there escaped H4422 not H3808 W-NPAR a man H376 NMS of them , save H518 PART four H702 MFS hundred H3967 BFP young H5288 men H376 NMS , which H834 RPRO rode H7392 upon H5921 PREP camels H1581 D-NMP , and fled H5127 .
18 And David H1732 MMS recovered H5337 all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO the Amalekites H6002 had carried away H3947 : and David H1732 rescued H5337 his two H8147 ONUM wives H802 .
19 And there was nothing H3808 W-NPAR lacking H5737 to them , neither H4480 PREP small H6996 D-AMS nor H5704 W-PREP great H1419 D-AMS , neither H5704 W-PREP sons H1121 NMP nor daughters H1323 W-CFP , neither spoil H7998 , nor H5704 W-PREP any H3605 NMS thing that H834 RPRO they had taken H3947 to them : David H1732 recovered H7725 VHQ3MS all H3605 NMS .
20 And David H1732 MMS took H3947 W-VQY3MS all H3605 NMS the flocks H6629 and the herds H1241 , which they drove H5090 before H6440 L-CMP those H1931 D-PPRO-3MS other cattle H4735 , and said H559 W-VQY3MP , This H2088 DPRO is David H1732 \'s spoil H7998 .
21 And David H1732 came H935 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP the two hundred H3967 MFD men H376 D-NMP , which H834 RPRO were so faint H6296 that they could not follow H1980 David H1732 , whom they had made also to abide H3427 at the brook H5158 Besor H1308 : and they went forth H3318 to meet H7125 David H1732 MMS , and to meet H7125 the people H5971 that H834 RPRO were with H854 PREP-3MS him : and when David H1732 MMS came near H5066 to the people H5971 , he saluted H7592 W-VQY3MS them .
22 Then answered H6030 W-VQY3MS all H3605 NMS the wicked H7451 AMS men H376 NMS and men of Belial H1100 , of those H376 NMS that H834 RPRO went H1980 VQQ3MP with H5973 PREP David H1732 MMS , and said H559 W-VQY3MP , Because H3282 ADV they went H1980 VQQ3MP not H3808 ADV with H5973 us , we will not H3808 ADV give H5414 them aught of the spoil H7998 that H834 RPRO we have recovered H5337 , save H518 PART to every man H376 NMS his wife H802 CFS-3MS and his children H1121 CMP-3MS , that they may lead them away H5090 , and depart H1980 .
23 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS David H1732 MMS , Ye shall not H3808 ADV do H6213 so H3651 ADV , my brethren H251 , with H854 PREP that which H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS hath given H5414 VQQ3MS us , who hath preserved H8104 us , and delivered H5414 W-VQQ3MS the company H1416 that came H935 against H5921 PREP-1MP us into our hand H3027 .
24 For who H4310 W-IPRO will hearken H8085 VQY3MS unto you in this H2088 D-PMS matter H1697 ? but H3588 CONJ as his part H2506 is that goeth down H3381 to the battle H4421 , so shall his part H2506 be that tarrieth H3427 D-VQPMS by H5921 PREP the stuff H3627 D-NMP : they shall part H2505 alike H3162 ADV-3MS .
25 And it was H1961 W-VQY3MS so from that day H3117 forward H4605 , that he made H7760 it a statute H2706 and an ordinance H4941 for Israel H3478 unto H5704 PREP this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 D-AMS .
26 And when David H1732 came H935 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP Ziklag H6860 , he sent H7971 W-VPY3MS of the spoil H7998 unto the elders H2205 of Judah H3063 , even to his friends H7453 L-CMS-3MS , saying H559 L-VQFC , Behold H2009 IJEC a present H1293 for you of the spoil H7998 of the enemies H341 of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS ;
27 To them which H834 L-RPRO were in Bethel H1008 , and to them which H834 were in south H5045 Ramoth H7418 , and to them which H834 were in Jattir H3492 ,
28 And to them which H834 were in Aroer H6177 , and to them which H834 were in Siphmoth H8224 , and to them which H834 were in Eshtemoa H851 ,
29 And to them which H834 were in Rachal H7403 , and to them which H834 were in the cities H5892 B-CFP of the Jerahmeelites H3397 , and to them which H834 were in the cities H5892 B-CFP of the Kenites H7017 ,
30 And to them which H834 were in Hormah H2767 , and to them which H834 were in Chor H3565 - ashan , and to them which H834 were in Athach H6269 ,
31 And to them which H834 were in Hebron H2275 B-EFS , and to all H3605 WL-CMS the places H4725 where H834 RPRO David H1732 MMS himself H1931 PPRO-3MS and his men H376 were wont to haunt H1980 .
